Functions and Purpose of NZAMI

The New Zealand Association for Migration and Investment (NZAMI), founded in 1989, is an incorporated non-profit making association, governed by a Board of Directors. The purpose of the NZAMI is to promote the long-term benefits of migration and investment programmes in New Zealand. The Association comprises migration consultants, legal and accounting practices, finance houses, real estate companies, business investment advisors and local government authorities. Membership of NZAMI is voluntary and all members must conduct their affairs in a professional manner, in accordance with the Association’s objectives, rules and code of ethics.

The NZAMI Board of Directors is elected annually in July at the Annual General Meeting. 
There are twelve Board members, including the Chairman, Vice Chairman and Secretary.
The Board meets every six weeks and sets the objectives, policies and programmes of the Association.

There are six committees with the following portfolios:

• To promote and support the immigration industry of New Zealand
  
• To represent and promote the interests of its members and their clients through liaison with the Government and business leaders in the community
  
• To promote the good reputation of its members throughout New Zealand and abroad
  
• To uphold high standards of service and ethical behaviour of its members and within the New Zealand migration industry
  
• To foster a free exchange of ideas and co-operation amongst members
  
• To provide up-to-date information and opportunities for professional development
  
• To market New Zealand worldwide with the aim of securing sufficient migration growth from throughout the world
